That's right . . . not only is it the 2nd Saturday of the month, but it's time for a new challenge HIMCR's Hiding In My Craft Room's Blogiversary #5 challenge.  HIMCR is 5-years old!!!  And to celebrate it, we are having five (5) challenges this week.

So HIMCR's Blogiversay #5 challenge this week is "Anniversary" or "Birthday".

For this challenge, I chose a digi image called "Tears of a Clown" by Scrapper's Delights because I knew it would be perfect for some of my birthday cards . . . I am notorious for being late with birthday cards. lol  Here's how it turned out:

I used scraps from my other cards to make this one along with using the Scribbles dies and adding my own sentiment by importing image into a work document.

HMCR Blogiversary #4 - "Freestyle"

So HIMCR's Blogiversay #4 challenge this week is "Freestyle" . . . meaning anything you want. "  Just have FUN with it!!!

For this challenge, I decided to use some of my UmWowStudio chippies along with my PanPastels and "Hello" mini stamp set from Papertrey Ink.  Here's how it turned out:

I used the Sunburst chippie as a mask and colored with my PanPastel to get the sun's rays.  I then added my "Hello" by inking it with both "Orange Zest" and "Summer Sunrise" inks to give it a bit more definition. Added my flair, clouds and gems . . . Voila! I was done.  I was VERY excited as to how this card turned out.  It brought a "sunny" spot into a dreary, rainy past few days. :)

HIMCR Blogiversary #3 "Back To School"

That's right . . . not only is it the 2nd Saturday of the month, but it's time for a new challenge HIMCR's Hiding In My Craft Room's Blogiversary #3 challenge.  HIMCR is 5-years old!!!  And to celebrate it, we are having five (5) challenges this week.

So HIMCR's Blogiversay #3 challenge this week is "Back to School".  I can hardly believe it's about that time already. :)

For this challenge, I did two cards using the same images - "Smiling Apple" and "Welcome Back to School" sentiment by Digi Digi Doodle;  Here's how they turned out:

For 2nd card, I tried a different technique I learned on YouTube on making your copic coloring look like crayon coloring.  I did this by first coloring the apples with 3 different shades of reds, being careful NOT to blend.  Then I took blending solution and appied to a Q-tip . . . then brushed the Q-tip across the apples, one at a time.  I did this till I got the look I wanted to achieve.  Those it was a long process, I love the results.

For HIMCR Blogiversay #2, I did birthday card in patriotic colors . . . using some of my favorite papers from PaperTemptress along with a new stamp set and banner dies I just received from Papertrey Ink.  The papers I used were Vintage Silver Luster, Navy mica/metallic and Jupiter Red mica/metallic text papers.  Here's how it turned out:

I just love the look of patriotic colors of these wonderful papers . . . they are so shimmery and have wonderful textrue, which is why they are my all-time, go-to favorite papers. :)

HIMCR Blogiversay #1 "Super Scraps Sat,"

That's right . . . not only is it the 2nd Saturday of the month, but it's time for a new challenge over at Hiding In My Craft Room.  But wait . . . it is also HIMCR's 5th anniversay. That's right!!! . . HIMCR is 5-years old!!!And to celebrate it, we are having five (5) challenges this week.

A month wouldn't be complete without a Super Scraps Satruday challenge!!!  So HIMCR's Blogiversay 1st challenge this week is "Super Scraps Saturday" . . . meaning, get out your scraps and we all know we have them. :)

For this challenge, I chose an image called "Birthday Giraffe" from Sami Stamps . . . I had had my eye on it for quite awhile and I thought it would be a perfect image for a birthday or blogiversary in this cars.  I used several paper scraps I had left from other projects (from PaperTemptress) for this card.  Here's how it turned out:

I also used Bright Huey Mists from Studio Calico to make splatters on my card base background ane Scribbles dies from Paperrey Ink . . . I just got these new dies and I just LOVE them.  They are so fun and whimsical.  They even have matching stamp set, which I also have. :)

It's CHALLENGE time!!!

Time to turn down the TV (don't need to be watching those daytime dramas, real life has enough of them . . . don't you think?!?), crank up the radio (I know I need some upbeat rhythms when I craftin'...even when I'm cleaning. Oops, sorry for the "dirty" word. - lol) and get out your paper, scissors, and glue because it's time for a new challenge at Clear It Out Challenge. This week I used a digi stamp called "Friends" from Bugaboo Stamps. I picked this image out because I thought it would work well with the sketch we were provided . . . and I was right. :) Here's how my card turned out:

For this card, I turned the sketch on it's side and used A2 dies to help cut the card base and middle, along with the rectangles under the image "Friends".  All-in-all I am pretty happy with the way it turned out . . . even if I did use scraps from other cards I did at the same time.  I just LOVE the bright HAPPY look of the card . . . and when sending a card to a friend, it's a "happy" occasion, right?  At least, usually it is. :)

HIMCR #160 - Pumpkin Cobbler Delight

Can you believe it's August already?  
Not only that but it's also the first Saturday of the month
and you know what that means, don't you?

That's right.  Not only is it time for a new challenge over at Hiding In My Craft Room, but it is also a color challenge!  This week the color challenge is "Pumpkin Cobbler Delight"  (Pumpkin Pie, cherry Cobbler and Dafodil Delight - These are the Stampin' Up colors, but you can use any brand that matches).
