This week our sponsor is:

For this week's challenge, I chose a cute little image called "Eleanor Lil Witch" from Lacy Sunshine. I chose her . . . well, mainly because she was so darn cute!!!  I just love Lacy Sunshine's digi images. And since the theme this week is gray, I thought a "witch" world work out perfectly for this week's challenge along with some of my "Glowing" and "Enchanted" papers by Authentique.  Here's how it turned out:

"Gray" items are the gray music paper and
gray crystals from "Say It With Crystals" by Prima.

Hope you were inspired by this and by the other Clear It Out Challenge DT members and will get a craftin' so you can show us your best "gray" projects ever!!!

HIMCR #167 - Any Holiday

Hi, all my crafty friends and family!!!

It's Saturday once again and you know what that means?

That's right . . . it's time for a new challenge over at Hiding In My Craft Room.  This week the theme is "any holiday" and our sponsor is Scrapper's Delight.

For this week's project, I did two (2) cards using digis from Scrapper's Delight - Sabrina Witch and Father Christmas.  These digis come in black 'n white outline . . . but since I wanted to do two (2), I used the pre-colored ones that came with them. Here's how my cards turned out:

Remember, you have one week to get your projects in.  Hope to see you all join us for this week's challenge.

Till the next time I'm up in the night.

Clear It OUt Challenge - Birthday

Does anyone know what time it is?

That's right!

It's CHALLENGE Time!

And over at Clear It Out Challenge, it's time for a new challenge.  And, as usual, our fearless leader, Laura, has come up with another GREAT challenge for us.  So get out your paper, scissors, and glue . . .
Are ;you ready?

I didn't hear you . . .

Are you ready?

IT'S CHALLENGE TIME!!!

Theme:  Birthday
Stash:  Glossy Accents or something shiny

You have one week (till Sept. 29th) to get your projects in.

This week's sponsor is:

For this week's challenge, I picked a digi image called "Chemistry" by Sentimental Susan for Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet.  When I first saw this image, I knew it would be PERFECT for this challenge by using Glossy Accents on each of the chemistry tubes and "Frosty" Stickles for the "overflow" from the tubes.  Here's how it turned out:

Supplies:
Strawberry & Melon twine from The Twinery
"Frosty" Stickles
Glossy Accents
sentiment from Fawn Lawn
Copics

I really like the way the tubes tuned out using Glossy Accents on them. For the "Birthday" part, I put a sentiment on the inside saying " . . . so let's get together and have a Happy Birthday">  I plan on giving it to a friend whose birthday is on the same day as mine.

The only other thing I would have like to do (and did try) was use googly eye on them, but I didn't have any big or small enough. Plus, they couldn't overlap each other like they did on the digi so I was able to see the outline of the eyes no matter what I tried.  But I haven't given up . . . I like this digi enough, that I am going to make some more cards with it and will give the googly eyes another try. :)

Remember, you have one week (till Sept. 29th) to get you projects posted in order to be eligible for the weekly prize.  I can't what to see what surprises everyone has in store for us this week . . . you never cease to amaze (surprise) us with your talent each and every week.

Till the next time I'm up in the night.

HIMCR #166 - Banners

Hi, all my crafty friends and family!!!

Here it is Saturday once again and you know what that means, don't you?

That's right . . . it's time for a new challenge over at Hiding in My Craft Room.  And this week the theme is "Banners".   I just LOVE banners because they can be used for anything from home decor to cards to scrapbook layouts . . . the possibilities are endless!!!  So get out your paper, scissors, glue and get craftin'.
This week's sponsor is:

I remember when banners started to become popular a few years ago and I had not made any or used them . . . but when I finally did try them out, I was HOOKED!  Now they are one of my favorite "embellishments" for cards, layouts and home  decor projects.  So  for this week's challenge, I did a 2-page layout using banners for the title.  Here's how it turned out:

 Supplies:
"Curiosity" paper collection by Authentique
"Thundercloud" cardstock
"Lemon Juice" cardstock
"Journal" Thickers  by Amy Tangerine
Hemp cord/twine

I have to admit when I first got this paper collection a couple years ago from CropChocolate, I was a bit hesitant . . . but once I received it, I fell in love with it.  The colors worked just perfect with each other and had such a "vintage" feel to them.  Plus, as you can see from the layout, there are papers that can be fussy-cut for embellishments like the A-B-Cs, the yellow tags and the nursery rhymes.  I used my daughter's initials for the letters on the left page (A-M-C) and the usual A-B-C for the right page.  I just love how it all came together . . . now to decide which school pictures I'm going to put on it. :)

Remember, you have one week to get your "banners" project(s) in to be eligible for one of the several prizes Hiding in My Craft Room is giving away.  I wonder how many different types of "banners" there will be?  Well, I know I can't wait to find out!!!

Till the next time I'm up in the night.

Clear It Out Challenge - Polka Dots

Does anyone know what time it is?

That's right . . .

It's CHALLENGE time!!!

Time to put away the vacuum (the dust bunnies will still be there tomorrow), time to stop washing dishes (the stack isn't reaching the ceiling . . . YET!), and put away that duster, too, (because, once again, those dust bunnies aren't going anywhere) because it's time for a new challenge over at Clear It Out Challenge.  And once again, our amazingly fearless leader, Laura, has come up with another FUN challenge for us.  So let's get out our paper, scissors, glue and get crafty!!!

Are you ready?

I didn't hear you . . .

Are you ready?

It's CHALLENGE time!!!

Theme:  Crazy for Polka Dots
Stash:  Polka Dot paper

And you have one week to play (till Sept. 22nd)

Our sponsors this week are:

This week I chose some digi images from the "Circus" digi bundle by Melonheadz . . . I used the clown, cannon and the word "CIRCUS" along with some of my Double Dot papers by Bo Bunny and some Ruche papers (yellow & navy) from PaperTemptress.  Here's how it turned out:

For the sentiment, I inserted the "CIRCUS" digi image into a MSWord document and then added "Life is a" above it . . . making sure it was centered above "CIRCUS".  For the clown and cannon digi images, I resized them to approximately 3-3.5", printed and colored them . . . then fussy-cut them.  One of the things I really like about the images from Melonheadz is that the lines were "thick" so it made it really easy to fussy cut right along the outside lines.

Remember, you have one week to get your project posted at Clear It Out Challenge in order to be eligible for the weekly prizes.

Speaking of prizes . . . The winner of the prize I was giving away from last week's challenge (choice of images/gift certificate from StampArtbyKathryne or a $15 gift certificate to PaperTemptress) is:

Barbara Gooden

So please contact me via email or facebook and
let me which you would prefer, Barbara.

And CONGRATS!!!

HIMCR #165 - "Super Scraps Saturday"

Hi, all my crafty friends and family!!!

Here it is the 2nd Saturday of the month
and you know what that means, don't you? . . .

That's right . . . not only is it time for a new challenge over at Hiding In My Craft Room, but it is time for Super Scraps Saturday.  I know I have mentioned many, many times BUT Super Scraps Saturday is my favorite challenge because it helps me make myself use my scraps . . . and I know we all have scraps to use. :)

Our sponsor this week is Digi Digi Doodle.

For this week's inspiration project, I chose to use the 'spider web" digi and "Happy Halloween" digi sentiment from Digi Digi Doodle by Blue Moon Creation so I could do a layout. With the spider web digi, I cropped the spider out and then made a transparency overlay with multiple webs to use on the top half of my layout.  And I also made a title for my page by cropping part of the web out and inserting it under "Happy Halloween" . . . and then printed on another transparency.  And I used big scraps from my "Oct. 31" paper collection by Fancy Pants.  Here's how it turned out:

Supplies:
"Happy Halloween" digi from Digi Digi Doodle
"Oct. 31" paper collection by Fancy Pants
"Oct. 31" chipboard by Fancy Pants
black w/ polka dot washi tape
lavendar washi tape
Helmars 450 Quick Dry Adhesive
transparencies

Since my transparencies were 8-1/2"x11", I had to print two (2) of them and cut on strip off one to make it fit my 12'x12' layout and there would be five (5) webs across and three (3) webs down when finished with layout. Here's a close-up of part of the overlay:

(Sorry for the glare)

For the title, I fussy-cut it so I didn't have the "shine" on my whole layout: Here's a close-up of my title:
(Again, so sorry for the glare.)

Remember, you have one week (till September 20th at 2am MST) to get your Super Scraps Saturday projects in.  What will you come up with this week?  I can't wait to find out . . . I am so honored to be on this DT and see all the AMAZING projects that are entered each week.  Keep up the GREAT work!!!

Till the next time I'm up in the night.

A Faux Emboss "Happy Birthday"

Hi, all my crafty friends and family!!!

How is everyone this fine Wednesday morning?  Me . . . well, I am hoping the rain goes away.  It's been raining for like forever it seems.  But the good thing is I get to wear my all-time favorite outfit - jean shorts and a sweatshirt.  Yep, it's been cool enough for sweatshirts.

Anyway, I want to share with you a card I did using some of my favorite papers from PaperTemptress along with some leftover scraps from a card I did a couple weeks ago and some dies.  Here's how it turned out:

Supplies:
Rainstones from PaperTrey Ink
Wet Paint Die from PaperTrey Ink
Hexagon Die: Cover Plate from PaperTrey Ink
Scribble Die from PaperTrey Ink
Inks - Poppy Red, Berry Sorbet, Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest and Harvest Gold

I used a "practice" piece of paper from my Watercolor Splat card (click HERE for details if you missed that post) for the hexagons . . . I used the Hexagon Die Cover Plate for this, but I didn't take the hexagons out right away.  Instead, I took some Glad Press n Seal and placed it over the front and carefully lifted all the hexagons together, thus leaving exact spacing in between each hexagon and giving me the choice of which ones I would want to use.  I then applied my Helmars 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to the backsides of the hexagons that I was going to want to adhere to my card base and then press the whole sheet of my "press n seal hexagons" onto my card base.  After letting dry for a minute or so, I lifted up the press n seal and it brought up only the hexagons that I didn't put adhesive on . . . thus giving it a faux embossed look.

I then die cut my scribbles out of the heavy weight vellum and the "happy" (Wet Paint die set) from the Razzleberry 100# papers . . . and adhered to card.  Then using a label maker, I made a label saying "BIRTHDAY" and adhered it beneath the "happy".  Sprinkled some Rainstones here 'n there along with some miscellaneous gems and . . . VOILA! I was done.

This was a pretty fun card to make and not so messy . . . but if you wanted, you could use embossing paste with  the hexagon die cut trim as a mask and apply it directly to the card base.  I've done it that way before and it turns out nice, too, but this way is less messy. :)

Till the next time I'm up in the night.

Clear It Out Challenge - Fancy Folds

Does anyone know what time it it?

That's right . . .

It's CHALLENGE time!!!

Time to put away the window cleaner (the windows are only going to get dirty again after today's rain), put away the vacuum (it can wait till tomorrow - lol) and get a snack or drink (mmm, some fresh tomatoes with fresh basil sound good right about now and then some chocolate & chocolate wine for dessert will craftin . . . and it's got to be 5 o'clock somewhere, right? lol) because it's time for a new challenge over at Clear It Out Challenge,  And once again, our amazingly fearless leader, Laura, has come up with a FUN challenge for us this week.  So let's get out our paper, scissors, and glue . . .

Are you ready?

I didn't hear  you . . .

Are  you ready?

Okay, IT'S CHALLENGE TIME!!!

Theme:  Fancy Folds
Stash:  Die Cuts

And you have 1 week to play (till Sept. 15th)

This week our sponsor is:

For this week's challenge, I decided to go a different route with my digi image (again) and chose a digi image called "Majestic Eagle Head" by StampArt by Kathryne.  So using paper from PaperTemptress, I decided to do a "side-step" card and used my star banner dies along with my scribble dies from PaperTrey Ink. Here's how it turned out:

Supplies:
Marchino Red twine from The Twinery

The first thing I did was practice my measurements and cuts for a side-step card to make sure I had them right and to make sure of what size I needed to print my image because I was going to change the color of my image in MSWord2013 software to a navy or dark blue and then printed it on some Vintage Silver Lustre paper from PaperTemptress.  Thankfully, it only took me two (2) tries. :)

After cutting my die cuts from both Lapis Luzali (navy) mica/metallic paper & Jupiter Red mica/metallic (text) paper, I put it all together and added the twine . . . VOILA!  I was done . . . and I was pretty pleased with how my FIRST (yes, FIRST!) side-step card turned out.  Now to decide who I am going to send it to.  Since my mother-in-law's birthday was today and I already made/gave her two (2) cards, I will probably save this for a "Thank You" card for her since she does like patriotic colors . . . but we will see.

Remember, you have one (1) week to get your "fancy-fold" projects posted in order to be eligible for the weekly prize, which is from StampArt by Kathryne this week.  I wonder how many types of folds you all can come up with?

. . . I think I feel a "contest" coming.  Yep, I do!  I am going to give away either a $15 gift certificate or five (5) images from StampArt by Kathryne. (since she is our sponsor this week) or a $15 gift certificate to PaperTemptress (since I used all her papers) to one lucky winner. To be eligible:

(1)  Must be a follower
(2)  Make a fancy-fold project and enter it at
Clear It Out Challenge Sept. 15th
(3) Comment here that you have done both of these things

The winner will be chosen by myself, my daughter and a friend.. . . we will each pick out Top 5 and whoever gets the most votes will win their choice of prizes from StampArt by Kathryne or PaperTemptress.  So . . . Ready-Set-Go!!!

Till the next time I'm up in the night.

Clear It Out Challenge - Anything Goes

Does anyone know what time it is?

That's right . . .

It's CHALLENGE time!!!

Time to turn down the TV (I am so tired of all the Severe Weather warnings - at least around here), crank up the radio (with my new "music" program for my Cochlear Implant, I am now able to have some upbeat rhythms when I craft...even when I'm cleaning. Oops, sorry for the "dirty" word again. - lol) . . . and get out your paper, scissors, and glue because it's time for a new challenge at Clear It Out Challenge. And Laura, our amazingly fearless leader, has come up with another GREAT challenge for us this week . . . one of our most popular ones in fact.  So easy, peasy . . .

Are you ready???

I didn't hear you . . .

Are you ready???

It's CHALLENGE time!!!

Theme: Anything Goes
Stash:  Anything Goes

You have one week (September 8th) to get your projects posted.

Our sponsor this week is:

This week I used a digi stamp called "Daisy Butterfly Tag" from Bugaboo Stamps. I picked this image out because there were so many different elements in it that I didn't think I would need to add much more to it to make it look good.. :) Here's how my card turned out:

After coloring my tag with my Inktense pencils (like watercolor pencils but the color is more intense), I fussy cut it and then used some "Ocean Wave" Radiant Shimmering Mist by Luminarte on the background and "Walnut Stain" Distress Ink on the edges.  Then after adding some black chevron twill ribbon by May Arts and a miscellaneous brad . . . Voila! I was done!!

Remember, you have till September 8th to get your "Anything Goes" projects in to be eligible for this week's prize from Bugaboo Stamps.  It will be so much fun seeing what everyone comes up with this week.

Till the next time I'm up in the night.
