Playing around . . .

Several months ago, I bought some of Tim Holtz's blueprint stamps and, with so many birthdays coming up this next month, I decided to pull out the Birthday Blueprint stamps and play around with them. Here's what the stamps look like:

I received a package of the "Trend Setter" paper collection by Fancy Pants and decided to use my Silks Acrylic Glazes and Twinkling H2Os instead of my Copics to color because . . . well, because the colors of the glazes and H2O are just so Y-U-M-M-Y!!!  And the matched so well . . . so much that it looked like to me that they were made for each other. :)

Here's the first card I did:

Supplies:
"Trend Setter" paper collection by Fancy Pants
Twinkling H2Os - African Jade, Deep Coral and Sunburst
Vintage Glitter in Bubblegum Pink
Buttercup Baker's Twine from The Twinery
misc. button

With this card, instead of using Distress Ink to distress the edges, I used my African Jade Twinkling H2) to distress the edges.  I think it gave it a little some extra.  And for the frosting on the cupcake, I used Glossy Accents to hold the glitter down.  It almost looks good enough to eat. :)

One thing with the Twinkling H2Os that surprised me was that when I took the lid off, it was hard on the inside.  To use the H20s, you have to spritz it with water and then let it set for a few minutes to "activate" it and then when  you are done, replace the lid and it will reharden.  AMAZING!!!  I just LOVE my H20s. :)  Here's what it looks like after it's been spritzed and then rehardened:

For the 2nd card I did, I used the present stamp from the Birthday Blueprint stamps.  Here's how it turned out:

Supplies:
"Trend Setter" paper collection by Fancy Pants
Silks Acrylic Glazes - Fuzzy Peach and Yellow Roses
misc. twine from stash

This card I kept very simple because I think much more would take away for the feel of the stamp . . . I wanted to showcase the stamp and not overpower it with a lot of embellies.  I think I did a pretty good job at that . . . what do you think?

I'm going to be working with the Balloon stamp or the Present stamp next today and over the weekend.  Hopefully, my mojo keeps up with my desire to create. :)

Till the next time I'm up in the night.  Kathy

{{added Saturday, June 15th at 1:54am}}  Oh, one more thing . . . I feel like giving away something.  Yes, again. :)  Become a follower and leave me some lovin' in order to be put into a drawing for a new set of Tim Holtz's Mini Blueprint stamps.  The winner will have a choice between two (2) different sets . . . the one with Valentine's Day, Easter & Patriotic stamps and the other has the mini stamps that include sewing items, traveling & a lightbulb.  Sorry, I can't think of their names right now, but when I do, I will post the names of the sets. :)

I will draw a name and announce here next Friday, June 21st.  So check back here to see if you are the lucky winner. :)

Once again, till the next time I'm up in the night. Kathy

wow Kathy! when I first saw these stamps I was like 'blech' but you make me actually want to play with them. I keep looking at the Twinkling H2O's but really, do I need another collection? probably not until I find a job to support the habit again ;)

Love them! I have been drooling over these stamp sets for a while. I think I actually got a set in a GB that I got from Molly's Square but haven't done anything with them yet. Now that I've seen yours I think I know what I am going to do today!
